Introduction

At Amana Living we understand it’s vital older people stay socially involved and connected.

Our clubs offer a safe and secure environment where people 65 years and over can relax, meet new friends, and participate in a variety of activities. The service enables people to maintain social connections and provides links to remain connected with the local community.

Our trained staff are instrumental in developing and implementing therapeutically appropriate activity programs that are relevant for our Day Club clients. The program design focuses on suitable activities that support a wellness and reablement approach and promote client independence.

Daily activities include games, arts and crafts, age-appropriate exercise classes. All clubs cater for people of any age living with dementia with specially designed activity programs that meet varying abilities. Some of our clubs have established relationships with local schools to incorporate multigenerational programs. The programs also incorporate Multicultural groups such as Vietnamese and Italian groups.

Day Clubs also offer respite opportunities for carers and families as well as access to our other dementia services including the McCusker Nurse service (North and South).
