Amana Living offers different types of housing for over-55s:

• Non-refundable ingoing contribution: and pay a daily operating fee.

All clubs cater for people of any age living with dementia with specially designed activity programs that meet varying abilities. We also have international social groups too. Please see our Day Club pages for more information. 

All of our Day Clubs have clients attending with various degrees of dementia. Kinross, Osborne Park and Bullcreek are secure facilities, but all clubs can cater to dementia specific programs. They provide a number of different enriching opportunities for clients and support for carers of clients living with dementia by providing respite.

The clubs are available to clients who may be eligible for Commonwealth Home Support Program funding through My Aged Care, private fee paying and also brokerage from other organisations. If you would like to discuss eligibility for funding, please contact us on 1300 26 26 26 and we will help you.

Home care is a range of care and services that help you, or the person you care for, to continue living at home for as long as possible. 

Services range from weekly support around your home to a daily visit to provide personal care, meal preparation, cleaning, medication assistance or regular nurse visits.

Amana Living has 13 residential aged care homes in Perth offering a variety of accommodation styles and services to suit a wide range of mobility, care needs and levels of independence. 

In our dementia-specific centres and wings, people living with this challenging disease can receive specialist care in a secure, safe environment. 

Amana Living has been offering care and services for older Western Australians for over 60 years. Our approach is to focus on the individual, paying close attention to their emotional, psychological and social needs, as well as providing top quality clinical and personal care round the clock.

Residents are encouraged to maintain as much independence as possible, to be involved in decision-making regarding the care and services they require, and to maintain connections with others.

In addition, our residential aged care homes offer some of the most spacious rooms in the industry, most with private ensuites, and many with private lounge rooms and kitchenettes.

Your first step is to contact your GP who will arrange for you to be assessed by an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). If the assessment states that you have been approved for permanent admission into residential care, you are ready for the next step.

Residential aged care homes provide permanent accommodation and 24-hour care and services for those who are no longer able to live in their own home. If you're looking for extra help with tasks around the home, we do also offer aged care services at home, too.

If you are caring for an older person at home, there will probably be times when you need to recharge your batteries, take a holiday or pursue your own interests for a while. Respite care gives you the opportunity to take a break, knowing that the person you care for is in good hands. Respite can mean anything from a regular visit at home, a visit to a day club or to a stay of a few weeks in a care centre. 

People living with dementia can access all types of respite services offered by Amana Living. In particular, you may want to consider one of our three specialist clubs for ongoing, regular daytime respite.

We find that club visits are equally beneficial to carers and those in their care. Our clients have a wonderful time, socialising with others, gardening, cooking, relaxing or going on outings.

For a longer break, why not consider residential respite care where we can look after your loved one while you have a break.

Amana Living offers residential respite at Mosman Park Care Centre and The Beach House, Kinross Care Community, offering short-term stays (between two and nine weeks), and three specialised day respite clubs for people living with dementia, including early-onset dementia. The Transition Care Program (TCP) is a Commonwealth initiative that provides short-term restorative care for older people after a hospital stay. The aim is to help them regain independence and give them more time to make a decision about their longer-term living options. Services include nursing and personal care, low-intensity physiotherapy, and occupational therapy, as well as social work support, nursing, and personal care.

We also offer care services at home if you're looking for extra help with day-to-day activities.

When an older person is in hospital for an extended period, the hospital treating team may recommend transition care for them before returning home or moving into residential care. The hospital team will arrange an assessment by an Aged Care Assessment Team and coordinate a referral to the transition care service. 

Amana Living offers a mix of dementia-specific, older adult mental health (OAMH), and transition care places. Our sites have experienced clinical teams, including dementia and OAMH specialists, and excellent facilities. These include ensuite accommodation, well-equipped therapy rooms and large lounge/dining areas.

McCusker Nurse Service: This is a free service for the carers of those living with dementia. It gives you the best chance of finding your way through the maze of resources and support available to you.

Respite care: Often people with dementia benefit from short-term respite care, either by coming along to one of our clubs or with a short stay in a residential care centre. This is an opportunity for you to have a much-needed break.

Our dementia services have grown from more than 50 years of experience and draw on international best practice. Helping people with dementia to remain as independent as they want to be is a vital part of what we do. With the help of family and our own observation, we work out what each person’s individual social, spiritual and emotional needs are, so that we can take a holistic approach to their care.

This could be anything from special pieces of furniture to services that don’t receive Government funding, such as the McCusker Nurse Service. Sponsorship funds enable us to stage a major enrichment event each year – a huge party for up to 800 residents and clients. This is a chance for guests to dress up, socialise and enjoy a sit-down lunch with live entertainment and dancing.

Amana Living is a not-for-profit organisation with charitable status. Government funding helps us to provide quality care and services, but we go beyond quality care to involve our residents and clients in enrichment activities, to help them stay connected to others, and to enhance the care environment. This would not be possible on government funding alone.
