Personal Contribution

How much will a Home Care Package cost me?

Being eligible for a Home Care Package means that the government will subsidise the cost of your care. This makes the help you need much more affordable.

Your contribution towards your Home Care Package could be made up of the following fees:

Basic daily fee

The basic daily fee is an amount that everyone can be asked to pay. This fee is added to the government subsidy to increase the funds available to you in your Home Care Package budget. If you choose not to pay this fee you will have less funds available in your budget to pay for relevant aged care services.

Income-tested fee

The income-tested care fee is a contribution that some people pay, as determined through an income assessment. This fee is based on individual income, including your pension. Full pensioners and people with an income up to $33,027.80 do not pay this fee.

Note: If your financial situation changes while you are receiving care, your income-tested care fee can change.

Care management fee

This fee helps us, as your home care package provider, to cover necessities including a dedicated service manager, ongoing assessment and care planning, management of incidents including investigation, scheduling of services, financial oversight of funding, sourcing and ordering equipment and products, clinical governance and additional visits and correspondence as required.

Package management fee

This fee helps us cover necessities such as preparing monthly statements, managing your home care package funding, compliance and quality assurance activities and administration of the package.
