What is a Level 3 Home Care Package?
A Level 3 Home Care Package provides a higher level of support than Levels 1 or 2, including assistance with daily tasks, self-care, some therapies, and possible nursing support.
At Level 3, home care workers will support you or your loved one to live at home with dignity for as long as you want. This allows you to stay where you are most comfortable until you are ready to move to residential aged care so you can keep living the life you enjoy in the place you love.
This level of home care package typically provides up to 8 hours per week, though this can vary depending on the services you engage.

What is a Level 3 Home Care Package worth?
As of February 2025, HCP Level 3 funding is worth approximately $40,905 per year for those eligible. This works out to be $1,568 fortnightly.
Depending on the services you choose and the level of care you would like (which can differ from the level of care subsidy you have been approved for), you may need to make additional contributions to your HCP.
Note: Subsidy pricing is approximate and subject to change.

What will the Level 3 Home Care Package funding cover?
HCP Level 3 funding can help you receive assistance for both basic care services and more intermediate care needs including:
- Personal care
- Domestic or household assistance
- Help with aids, appliances
- Meal preparation
- Social support
- Transport
- Medication management
- Nursing care or support
- Physiotherapy & massage therapy
- Allied health services support
- Support with changes to memory and/or behaviour
The types of services you use will depend on your unique situation. The best combination of these different services is the one that will allow you or your loved one to live their best life, with support for health and well-being as you age.
What will I pay for a Level 3 Home Care Package?
While the packages are subsidised by the Australian Government, your contributions may include:
- Basic daily fee
This is an amount everyone can be asked to pay. It is added to the government subsidy to increase the funds available to you in your Level 3 Home Care Package budget. You do not have to pay for this. If you choose not to make this extra contribution, however, you will have less funds available in your care budget. This may impact the range of services your budget can cover. - Income-tested care fee
This is a contribution only some people will pay, and the amount is determined through an income assessment. Your fee will be based on your individual income, including your pension. - Care management fee
This is paid to your home care package provider (Amana Living) and covers necessities such as a dedicated service manager, management and investigation of any incidents, service scheduling, financial oversight of funding, ordering and sourcing of equipment and products, ongoing assessment and care planning, clinical governance, and additional correspondence and visits as necessary. - Package management fee
This is what will help us cover other necessities related to the smooth running of your package. This fee goes towards preparing monthly statements, managing your package funding, compliance and quality assurance, and administration.
What you pay altogether will depend on your personal circumstances and the income assessment.
