Home Overview

Each unit has a sitting room with kitchenette, a separate bedroom with private ensuite bathroom, and split system air-conditioning. The sitting room opens onto a small private patio with an attractive outlook onto gardens or the neighbouring parkland.

Indoors, there is a private sitting room and library, and residents have opportunities to socialise, exercise and join in activities in the craft room and dining/activity rooms.

Residents can gather or entertain friends and family in the community room or outdoor barbecue area.

The local library and shopping centre are just the other side of the reserve, within walking distance.

Residential Care can be a bit complicated.

Pricing involves a Basic Daily Fee plus, if applicable, an accommodation payment and means-tested care fee.

We have provided explanations here and even a calculator to help you work out what your fees are likely to be; however if you need further assistance please contact our Customer Service Centre and one of our experienced team members will be happy help you.

The Basic Daily Fee

The Means-Tested Care Fee

This is an additional contribution towards the cost of care that some people may be required to pay. This fee is determined by Services Australia and is based on the amount of income and assets of the resident.

Each person entering a care centre must complete the Centrelink form SA454.1407 “Permanent Residential Aged Care Request for a Combined Asset and Income Assessment” to have their means-tested care fee determined by Centrelink.

The Accommodation Payment

This is for your accommodation in the care centre. Some people will have their accommodation costs met in full or part by the Australian Government, while others will need to pay the accommodation payment. Services Australia (Centrelink) will advise you which fee applies to you based on an assessment of your income and assets. Depending on your financial situation, you may be asked to pay the full Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) or part of that deposit, referred to as a Refundable Accommodation Contribution (RAC).

An alternative to paying the RAD or RAC is paying the interest that Amana Living are eligible to charge on the RAD or RAC. This interest payment is referred to as the Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) or the Daily Accommodation Contribution (DAC).

Another alternative is to pay part of the RAD or RAC and pay the interest on the balance owing as a DAP or DAC. Below is a calculator to show you different combinations of RAD/DAP for different room types at this care centre.
