Amana Living has launched a new training organisation for the aged, home and community care (HACC) and disability care sectors.
Called Amana Living Training Institute (ALTI), the organisation will deliver quality accredited and non-accredited training in clinical and non-clinical areas for businesses and individuals.
Courses include: Certificate III and IV qualifications in Aged, HACC, Disability Care and Leisure and Health; accredited short courses in first-aid and safe work practices; accredited skills sets such as palliative care, dementia care and medication management; and non-accredited courses ranging from falls prevention to cultural awareness.
ALTI will also offer customised training for organisations where content is designed to support organisational strategic goals and help staff meet professional development, and mandatory training / compliance requirements. Courses will be delivered either in the workplace or ALTI’s new training centre in Rivervale, Perth.
Stephanie Buckland, CEO of Amana Living, said:
'“There has been a jobs boom in aged care accompanied by growing interest in the caring profession. We’ve successfully trained thousands of our own staff since 1998 and it made sense to extend this knowledge and experience to people outside the organisation."
“Employers want staff who are practically trained with real-life experience in the workplace. All our students will be trained by experts who are all practicing health care professionals and the course content will be regularly reviewed by our clinical and care teams, as well as major care providers, regulatory bodies and industry partners."
“We’re also in a unique position to offer students traineeship program/employment opportunities at one of our 21 sites in WA or with one of our partner providers. We may also be able to offer students employment in our own centres following completion of their course.”
ALTI has developed a face-to-face workshop and workplace-based training model, which gives students the practical knowledge and skills needed to perform their role competently. The client-focused programs are available to businesses, public students and individual employees, and is fully compliant with Registered Training Organisation (RTO) regulations.
All courses are nationally recognised and acknowledged by all Government organisations and other care providers in Australia, meaning the qualification is transferable across the country.
