Amana Living is pleased to announce that it has been awarded nearly $4.5 million in funding from the Aged Care Capital Assistance Program – an Australian Government initiative. This funding will support vital upgrades at Edward Collick Home in Kalgoorlie as part of Amana Living’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the living environments of our residents.
The Aged Care Capital Assistance Program provides grants to improve aged care infrastructure, especially in regional, rural, and remote areas. This program is particularly focused on providing better access to care for First Nations communities, people with complex needs such as dementia, and those at risk of homelessness.
Amana Living's successful application follows a competitive process and highlights our ongoing dedication to delivering high-quality services and accommodation to those who need them most. The funding will be used for a range of improvements at Edward Collick Home, including:
- Refurbishment of residents' rooms
- Upgrades to common areas
- Renovation of the hairdressing salon
- Landscaping improvements
- Power systems and security enhancements
Stephanie Buckland, Chief Executive Officer of Amana Living, said: “Amana Living is dedicated to creating contemporary, welcoming environments that support the physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing of our residents. We are delighted to receive this funding, which will allow us to significantly enhance the building and facilities of Edward Collick Home.
“Regional aged care providers face unique challenges, and we commend the Government for recognising the importance of investing in quality care and facilities for older people in regional communities. This funding is a testament to the value of ensuring all Australians, no matter where they live, have access to the care they deserve.”
Work is expected to begin in the first half of 2025. A detailed project plan will be developed in collaboration with the staff, residents and families of Edward Collick Home to ensure minimal disruption during the upgrade process.
Amana Living is proud to be part of a national effort to support aged care services in areas where they are needed most, and we look forward to delivering these much-needed improvements to Edward Collick Home.
