Yulunda, Service Manager of James Brown Care Centre in Osborne Park, is the only finalist from Western Australia. She was nominated for the Individual Distinction award which recognises aged care staff for their exceptional contribution to improving the lives of ageing Australians.
Commenting on the award, Yulunda said: “I was over the moon and totally in shock when I found out I was a finalist in the 2018 HESTA Aged Care Awards. It’s a real honour to be recognised for the work I love to do. This award is a testament to our staff at Amana Living James Brown Care Centre and our residents, as much as it is about individual distinction.”
Amana Living CEO, Stephanie Buckland, said Yulunda has shown exceptional leadership and is an outstanding member of the Amana Living team.
“Yulunda’s professionalism, dedication, skill and enthusiasm have resulted in the transformation of James Brown Care Centre. Her leadership has had a significant impact on employee morale and performance, ultimately improving resident care and satisfaction. And it’s thanks to her foresight and initiative that an innovative new staffing model is now being rolled out across the organisation. We congratulate Yulunda on receiving this accolade from HESTA.”
Winners will be announced on 9 August in Canberra and they will take home a share in $30,000 of the prize pool donated by ME Bank.
