If you’ve always wanted a career in the care industry but the cost of training has been a barrier, now is the time to act.
The WA State Government has introduced the ‘Lower Fees, Local Skills’ initiative which will see aged, home and community, allied health and disability care course fees slashed. It’s also a great time to boost existing skills thanks to the fee reductions.
From 1 January 2020, students or their employers will pay half the standard course fees for a number of specially selected qualifications. Course fees will be capped per year so that the maximum course fees you'll pay will be only $1,200 or $400 if you're eligible for a concession or student under the age of 25.
Courses available from Amana Living Training Institute (ALTI) that are eligible for the 50 percent fee reduction include:
Certificate II in Introduction to Aged Care (Pre-Traineeship)
Certificate II in Introduction to Disability Care (Pre-Traineeship)
Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance
Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing)
Certificate III in Individual Support (Home and Community)
