Residential – Hospitality Services
I joined Amana Living nine years ago at the Sundowner Centre in Cottesloe helping out in the kitchen and cleaning areas. After about 2 years I had to take a break for approximately eight months but the company was great and kept my job open for me until I was ready to return.
Over the past 7 years since my return, Amana Living has continued to be a great company to work for. I was encouraged to develop into the Kitchen Coordinator’s role when she goes on holidays. Its hard work but I really enjoy it. It’s nice to have a change from just doing the domestic side of it.
Amana Living offer a lot of opportunities for training, which is all paid for by the company and they encourage you to continually learn as you are going, to further your skills. In fact I’ve never worked anywhere where there is so much training.
I look forward to coming to work, I’m one of those lucky people who doesn’t wake up in the morning and think ‘oh god’ I don’t want to go to work today. Everyone here gets along well with each other and the residents, because we all take pride in what we do.
